The Exhibition "FRONT SKETCHES" by Oleg Bazylewicz
a soldier for whom drawing at the front became an internal necessity.
In the extremely difficult conditions of war, without canvas, without paints, sometimes even without full-fledged paper, he still drew. Because he could not help but draw.
When there were no artistic materials, Oleg Bazylewicz used the soil - what was at hand. The soil became paint, fingers - brushes, any piece of paper - a canvas. These were not just images. It was a way to breathe, maintain balance, preserve oneself.
Drawing became a form of therapy for him. In each work - lived emotions: fear and exhaustion, hope and light. Through simple natural materials, deep, honest images were born that capture the state of a person in war.
This exhibition is not only about art. It is about the inner need to create even when the world is collapsing. About drawing as a way of healing. About creativity as a form of psychological survival.
The exhibition presented a series of works created directly at the front.
